As a licensed Cosmetologist, esthetician and educator, Linda has been involved in the beauty industry for over 35 years. She began her career as a nail tech and quickly added skin specialist, then cosmetologist. After working for several years as a stylist, makeup artist, and skin specialist she opened her own salon, then one year later, a second. After five years owning and operating her own salons, she found she really enjoyed helping new stylists grow and develop their craft.
After returning to school to continue her education as an Instructor and teaching for a cosmetology school, it was then that she was invited to serve as an academic evaluator for the National Accrediting Commission for Career Arts and Sciences; the leading national agency for institutional accreditation of post-secondary schools.
As a lifelong professional, her recent passion was developed in 2015 when she hosted an Oncology Spa Solutions® training at the cosmetology school where she served as the director. When she was a young girl, her mother was diagnosed with breast cancer and she always felt so bad that there was not more that could be done for her after her surgery and treatments. The second time she hosted the class she decided to attend. It was the first day when Becky shared her story that she knew this was going to be what she would be doing. She didn’t know when or how long it would take to her get there, but she knew in her heart this was her calling.
